Technological advances have brought greater accessibility to government, education and business. The National Federation of the Blind Center of Excellence in Nonvisual Access to Education, Public Information and Commerce (CENA) has a mission to facilitate access to those needing non-visual alternatives to information.
CENA supports the International Braille and Technology Center for the Blind (IBTC), which is an organization that supports over $2.5 million worth of tactile and speech output technology that spans nearly all of the technology available. These devices include mobile devices with speech and magnification features, digital magnifiers and magnification software, optical character recognition tools, digital book readers, screen access software, Braille displays, Embossers (Braille printers), election technology, tactile graphics equipment, and more.
Braille technology includes:
- Braille Note Takers
- Braille Embossers and other writing devices
- Refreshable Braille Displays
- Braille Translation Software
- and much more
